The Good Doctor: Will Dr. Lim make it?

This recap and review contains spoilers for S2E11 Quarantine.

The Good Doctor picks up where it left off, patients and doctors fearing an aggressive virus.

Dr. Lim is in distress when Dr. Reznick thinks of a creative idea. Dr. Reznick noticeably has a tough time with the death of a friend, an EMT. Throughout the season we see Dr. Reznick become more open and vulnerable, we start to see who she really is. They need to continue to build out her character if she’s going to stay on he show.

Dr. Melendez is also having a tough time with the illness of Dr. Lim. However, he is able to pull it together to save his patient. He and Dr. Browne revive their patient even though he has a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate). The patient’s father is quarantined but Dr. Andrews comes up with a way to perform the surgery. The bone marrow transport is successful, allowing the patient to live another day. Unfortunately, his father dies and he isn’t able to say his goodbyes.

Dr. Melendez, and possibly Browne, could be in big trouble. Even though the patient lived, they violated his rights.

Dr. Murphy snaps out of it an is able to help patients again, earplugs to the rescue. He works on a pregnant patient, performing his first delivery. The baby and mother survive.

I can foresee at this point that Dr. Murphy’s career is in jeopardy. When patients needed him he froze. I have no idea how he will make through this season unscathed.

Dr. Park was not exposed but then threatens a security guard to let him into the quarantined area to help his son with an asthma attack. His son recovered quickly and he moved on to collect the bone marrow from the father of Dr. Melendez’s patient.

Dr. Park has a somewhat estranged relationship with his son but he seems to be going in the right direction to repair that relationship. It seems like he finally gets it, sharing with his son that his father never allowed him to cry. I think we will see this relationship grow. Previously Park seemed to be haunted by his relationship with his son and ex-wife.

This episode ended well. Dr. Glass even got good news that his cancer is gone. Oh but NEXT episode. It looks like there will be trouble.

The Good Doctor airs Monday nights on ABC.
