This recap contains spoilers for the Black Wind Howls.
Episode six opens up with Sonny and Baji walking through a market on their were to meet Baji’s “smuggler friend.” This new Russian roulette is ridiculous. This is an interesting place. Baji’s “friend” is apparently his ex-wife. I love when episodes start off with an entertaining fight scene. This opener did not disappoint.
Bajie obviously misses his wife, we get to learn a little more of his back story in this episode. As a result of this journey, we also gain insight into Sonny’s past as well. Bajie’s ex-wife betrays them to the River King, and of course Sonny wasn’t going down without a gory fight, my favorite kind of fight. I’m confused about why the River King ever thought he would beat Sonny, especially when his current mission is to save his son. The River King has now joined the team, leading Sonny to Pilgrim.
Tilda joins the Widow again as an ally. It seems no one can do it all on their own in the Badlands. What is the Widow’s real interest in the dark ones? First MK, now Castor. Does the Widow want her gift back or does she want those with gifts to fight for her? Cressida seems to offer her an opportunity to have her gift returned, she turns her back.
The episode concludes with Castor losing control, MK restrains him, and Pilgrim instructs Nix to leave the room with MK. Pilgrim shares his final moments with Castor.
The next episode looks promising. Pilgrim expresses that the catalyst is his kin. We also hear that a group has been searching for Sonny for years. The action looks juicy next week.
