The Flash: Barry Turns Bad Boy

Sherloque is still on the curious case of Nora Allen. Nora meets with Thawne realizing that Thawne is getting close to her secret. If Nora actually thinks Barry will hate her for working with Thawne to catch Cicada, then why would she continue? I understand maybe she wants to save her father but this isn’t the way. When he finds out, AND HE WILL, he will be angry or disappointed.

Sherloque meets a woman at Jitters coffee shop, Nora’s doing, through the help of Thawne, and is now too distracted to focus on Nora and her mystery partner. Unfortunately, Sherloque comes off as a stalker. It is slightly uncanny that Sherloque doesn’t recognize Nora is trying to distract him.

So apparently all of Sherloque’s ex-wives are the same person, just from different Earths. Renee Adler, played by Kimberly Williams-Paisley, has the same face!

Interestingly enough, Renee is a meta-human. Sherloque finally gets her attention, and her phone number, but as she leaves the coffee shop Sherloque notices the door opens on its own. He infers she must be a meta-human and immediately his interest turns back to Cicada, and off Nora, to protect Renee.

Caitlin, Barry, and Ralph work to collect a tool to incapacitate Cicada while they try the meta-human cure on him. To get the job done Barry and Ralph visit an underground arms dealership. Barry can’t help but be in “hero mode” though. When he attempts to buy all of the “cop killers”, guns that obliterate body armor, he blows their cover. Ralph has the scent of “scum” on him so he’s safe, but Barry, Barry smells of hero.

Barry and Ralph have to go on a robbery to prove themselves. When Ralph finds out they have to steal donor organs he just can’t go through it. Even through Barry and Ralph can’t use their powers, they are able to fight their way out and use their brains to take down Goldface.

Iris tries to get her paper off the ground and get some traction by reporting on Cicada. She finds a lead on an address by interviewing his old boss, breaks into his house, and of course he comes home. She is able to fool him into thinking she is doing an article on lead in the water in the neighborhood and tells him his door was unlocked. When the interview is over he figures out she broke in before, she left her purse behind the first time and tried to grab it without him noticing. Since Iris has moves, she was able to fight him off, grabbing a knife from the kitchen and stabbing him. By the time the team makes it to the house there is no sign of Cicada.

This week’s episode had a pretty light story line compared to papa Flash going into a rage and almost killing Cicada in previous weeks. It was a nice highlight though to see Kimberly Williams–Paisley play several different versions of herself. Williams-Paisley has previously starred in several movies alongside Tom Cavanagh (Dr. Harry Wells/Sherloque).

It’s groundhog’s day next week. It looks like Nora’s time travel begins to catch up with her.

The Flash airs Tuesdays on the CW.
