This review contains spoilers for The Resident S2E14 Stupid Things in the Name of Sex.
The Valentine’s Day episode.
Devon moved back home and continues searching for Julian. Dr. Okafor’s neighbor dies, the neighbor who happens to be taking care of Julian’s cat for Devon. Okafor and Devon fight for an autopsy, which was interesting to see. I never thought about how much an autopsy may cost or that you could not just request one unless you’ve procured payment.
Turns out Dr. Okafor’s neighbor died from Polycystic Kidney Syndrome (PKS). PKS is one I have never heard of before. I am sure some women may be familiar with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) but PKS is a new one for me. Apparently PKS can cause brain aneurisms. Luckily Austin and Okafor found the cause of death, they are able to save her niece, who had two aneurisms that could have burst at any moment.
So Dr. Irving is almost trash. He and Nurse Jess have been seeing each other for a while but apparently he doesn’t want anyone to know. It’s like how old are you? If you are dating someone you are ashamed to be seen with, you shouldn’t be dating them.
He redeems himself with champagne and a romantic set up in an elevator reserved for two. Truth is, he felt no one at work took him seriously so he was concerned about how he would look, not Nurse Jess. I am glad he found his confidence.
Nic and Conrad are able to steal a moment at the end of the evening in the back of Conrad’s truck. Nic is spending Family Day (and evening) with Jess at rehab. At least Jess came back. I really wasn’t sure if she would, it was a cliffhanger in the last episode.
Micah has something up his sleeve, A RING!!
The engagement was the closing scene of the episode. I am curious about how this will turn out. Earlier in the episode Okafor says how she and Micah are moving at the perfect pace.
Her face looks somewhat happy but she also does not seem like she is looking toward marriage. I think anyone would get this perception from her so I am surprised Micah hasn’t picked up on this. Even though Micah seems to be her weakness I am not sure this will turn out in his favor.
The Resident airs Mondays on FOX.
